Why it was refused
Reason 1
The alteration would result in loss of historic fabric, layout and detailing. The proposal would therefore fail to conserve the significance of the listed building and would result in less than substantial harm to the special architectural and historic interest of the listed building, which would not be outweighed by any public benefits resulting from the development. As such, the proposal fails to comply with Policy Q20 of the Lambeth Local Plan (2021) and the Building Alterations and Extensions SPD (2015).
