Because of their size, design and location, the flagpole and flag would harm the significance of this grade 2 listed building, and the setting of the adjoining buildings at no. 27 Berkeley Square. It would also fail to maintain or improve (preserve or enhance) the character and appearance of the Mayfair Conservation Area. This would not meet Policies 42, 44 and 45 of the City Plan 2019 - 2040 (January 2026).
