Roof extension including increase in ridge height in connection with the Conversion of loft space into habitable accommodation.
Why it was refused
Reason 1
The proposed roof extension due to its design, size, scale and siting extending above existing roof ridge, would result in an incongruous, unsympathetic and over dominant form of development which is highly visible within the streetscene and would undermine the symmetry of this pair of semi- detached houses (no's 46 and 48) and would not be in keeping with the prevailing pattern of development in the area. As such, the proposal is contrary to policy 28 of the Sutton Local Plan 2018 and the advice in Supplementary Planning Document 4: The Design of Residential Extensions.
