Retrospective application for the retention of an acoustic enclosure and associated wooden fence housing air-conditioning and refrigeration units to the rear, together with retention of fascia signage to the front elevation of existing retail premises (Use Class E).
Reason 1 The development, by reason of its materials and ill-fitting design, is considered to result in undue harm to the character and appearance of the original building and surrounding conext. The development is therefore contrary to: • National Planning Policy Framework (MHCLG, December 2024); • Policy D3 of the London Plan (GLA, March 2021); • Policies SP1 and SP3 of the London Borough of Newham Local Plan (December 2018).
Reason 2 The development, by reason of insufficient information being submitted in the form of a noise assessment does not ascertain accurately or positively that the current development in situ has acceptable impact with regard to neighbouring amenity. The development is therefore contrary to: • National Planning Policy Framework (MHCLG, December 2024); • Policies D3 and D14 of the London Plan (GLA, March 2021); • Policy SP8 of the London Borough of Newham Local Plan (December 2018).
