Scheme description

Construction of a dormer extension to the rear roof slope of 95 Culverley Road, SE6

Why it was refused
Reason 1

The dormer extension, by reason of its poor quality design, siting and high visibility, would disrupt the roofscape causing harm to the character and appearance of the host building and Culverely Green Conservation area, and is contrary to Paragraph 196 of the National Planning Policy Framework (2019), Policy 16 Conservation Areas, Heritage Assets and the Historic Environment of the Lewisham Core Strategy (2011), DM Policy 36 New development, changes of use and alterations affecting designated heritage assets and their setting: conservation areas, listed buildings, schedule of ancient monuments and registered parks and gardens; and the Alterations and Extensions Supplementary Planning Document (2019) within the Lewisham Development Management Framework.
