Alterations to the rear elevation, including the replacement of 2x first-floor windows with French doors and the installation of Juliet balconies. Formation of a dormer window to the second-floor rear elevation; and the replacement of two existing rooflights with a single enlarged rooflight.
The proposed first floor door openings with balconies (x2) by reasons of their design, scale and style would result in an incongruous and prominent features that unacceptably harm the historic fenestration arrangement of the host building. The alien features are not subservient additions and fail to respond positively to the local distinctiveness of the host building and its group. The proposal would be contrary to Policies Q5, Q8 and Q11 of the Lambeth Local Plan 2021 and the Lambeth Design Guide 2023.
