The use of the proposed metal cladding and render to the proposed first floor rear extension would introduce an incongruous feature that serves to have a detrimental visual impact on the character and appearance of the historic brick host building and its group. The appearance of the development would significantly harm the local distinctiveness of the host building and the houses on Combermere Road.
