- The proposed alterations, specifically the change in height and form of the roof, by reason of its uncharacteristic design, would unbalance the pair of semi-detached properties and result in an incongruous form of development which would fail to respect the character, composition and design of the host dwellinghouse and neighbouring properties. The proposal would therefore result in a detrimental impact to the character and appearance of the subject dwellinghouse and the character of the surrounding area, contrary to the high quality design aspirations of National Planning Policy Framework (2024), Policy D3 (D.1, D.11 and D.12) of the London Plan (2021), Policy GR1 of the Local Plan (2021 – 2041) and the adopted Supplementary Planning Document: Residential Design Guide (2010).
