Replacement of existing solid security shutters with a porous mesh fence to the Drysdale Street frontage, and installation of external security lighting and a CCTV system to the rear service yard.
The proposal, by reason of its detailed design and siting, would have a detrimental impact upon the character and appearance of the streetscene and would fail to preserve or enhance the character and appearance of the adjacent Kingsland Conservation Area. As such, the proposal is contrary to policies D3 (Optimising site capacity through the design-led approach), D4 (Delivering good design), and HC1 (Heritage conservation and growth) of The London Plan (2021), and policies LP1 (Design Quality and Local Character), and LP3 (Designated Heritage Assets) of the Hackney Local Plan (2020) and Hackney's Commercial Extensions and Alterations SPD (2025).
