Alterations to front elevation of property to restore original appearance in terms brick facade and fenestration using brick slips.
The proposed use of brick slips, by reason of their inappropriate and poor quality design, would result in an incongruous appearance that would harm the character and appearance of the existing building, wider terrace, and surrounding street scene. As such, the proposal is contrary to policies D3 (Optimising site capacity through the design-led approach) and D4 (Delivering good design) of the London Plan (2021), policies LP1 (Design Quality and Local Character) of Hackney’s Local Plan 2033 (2020), Hackney's Residential Extensions and Alterations SPD (2009), and T he NPPF (2024).
