Loft conversion with a roof terrace.
The proposed development, by reason of the loft conversion with alteration of the roof form from a hipped to gable roof style with front terrace, would constitute a dominant, unsympathetic and uncharacteristic proposal which would cause harm to the character and appearance of the application site, the character and appearance of the surrounding West Greenwich Conservation Area and the character and appearance of the buffer zone to the Maritime Greenwich World Heritage Site. As such, the development would be contrary to the requirements of Section 72 of the Town and Country Planning (Listed Building and Conservation Area) Act 1990, Chapters 12 and 16 of the National Planning Policy Framework (2024), Policies D3, HC1 and HC2 of the London Plan (2021), Policies DH1, DH3, DH4, DH(a) and DH(h) of the Royal Greenwich Local Plan: Core Strategy with Detailed Policies (July 2014), Council's Urban Design Guide Supplementary Planning Document (Oct 2023) and West Greenwich Conservation Area Character Appraisal (2010).
