The proposed hip to gable alteration and two storey side extension by reason of its design, roof form, scale and siting would give rise to a contrived, dominant and bulky form of development on a prominent corner site that would unbalance and detract from the character and symmetry of the semi- detached pair, would harmfully erode the character and appearance of the host dwelling, and would be detrimental to the character and appearance of the street scene. The proposals are thereby contrary to Policies 7.4 and 7.6 of the London Plan, CP30 of the Core Strategy, DMD6, DMD8, DMD11, DMD13, DMD14 and DMD37 of the Development Management Document, and the advice contained within the NPPF.
