Conversion of single family dwelling house into two self-contained flats and single storey rear extension.
The proposed conversion would result in the loss of a 3-bedroom family dwelling and fails to provide adequate compensatory family accommodation, leading to a net reduction in family housing within the borough. This outcome undermines the Council's strategic objective to increase the supply of larger (3+ bedroom) units, which are essential to meeting the housing needs of families and the proposal would lead to a clustering of conversions. The proposal is therefore contrary to National Planning Policy Framework (2024), Policy GG4 of the London Plan (2021), Policy CP5 of the Core Strategy (2010), Policies DMD4 and DMD5 of the Development Management Document (2014), and the Council's Local Housing Needs Assessment (2020).
