The proposed porch and canopy by virtue of its design, scale and siting would constitute an obtrusive and dominant form of development which would be out of keeping with the surrounding character and pattern of development and thus would be detrimental to the uniformity and visual amenities of Athole Gardens. In this respect, the proposals are thereby contrary to Policies CP30 of the Core Strategy, DMD8 and DMD37 of the Development Management Document, D4 of the London Plan and the guidance contained within the National Planning Policy Framework.
