Installation of an electric slide gate; replacement of existing boundary wall; and installation of side metal fence (Retrospective)
The as-built electric gate and replacement boundary wall, by reasons of its excessive height, scale and inappropriate materials, would be contrary to the consistent heritage and character of front boundary treatment along Brunswick Gardens and the Brunswick Conservation Area. The proposed boundary treatment would constitute an incongruous form of development, to the detriment of the surrounding Conservation Area. Insufficient information has been submitted to adequately justify or outweigh the potential harm caused. As such, the proposal is unacceptable in terms of its design and character and fails to comply with policies HC1, D3 and D4 of the London Plan (2021), policies 7C, 7B, and 7.4 of the Ealing Development Management DPD (2013), Generic Conservation Area Management Plan (2023) and the Brunswick Conservation Area Management Plan (2007).
The submitted drawings do not accurately reflect the as-built boundary treatment, including its dimension, design, material and location. As a result, the proposal fails to comply with Paragraph 140 of the NPPF (2024).
