Installation of frameless glass skylight to the rear pitch of butterfly roof.
The proposal would appear prominent in views from the rear and would be an incongruous feature at roof level that is out of character with the prevailing pattern of development along the row of which the property forms a part and would harm the character and appearance of the Inkerman Conservation Area. The proposal is contrary to policies D1 (Design) and D2 (Heritage) of the Local Plan 2017.
The proposal by nature of its fully glazed materiality would lead to the property being highly susceptible to solar gain and associated heating to the detriment of the occupiers. The proposal is contrary to policies CC1 (Climate Change Mitigation) and CC2 (Adapting to Climate Change) of the Local Plan 2017.
