The proposed white rendering of the external walls would be unduly obtrusive, inharmonious, unsympathetic and out of keeping with the character and appearance of the original property, as well as the wider conservation area. The proposed development is therefore considered contrary to Policy D3 and HC1of the London Plan (2021); Policy CS NPPF, CS1 and CS5 of the Local Plan Core Strategy (2012), Policies DM01 and DM06 of the Local Plan Development Management Policies DPD (2012) and the Residential Design Guidance SPD (2016).
